Sandra Mae Thurman, age 74 of Harrison, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at her house with family and friends by her side.

Sandra was born June 25, 1940, the daughter of John Lockhart and Charlotte (Elkins) Lockhart in Big Sandy, Montana.

She was preceded in death by her parents: one son, Calvin David Anderson; and one stepson, James Patrick Thurman;: and three sisters, Donna Savage, Alice Ebert, and Carol Grubb.

She is survived by the love of her life, Howard Thurman whom she married 51 years ago; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Garry Bundy of Harrison, Arkansas; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Bonita and Gary Valentine of Western Grove, Arkansas; two stepsons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Thurman of Urbana, Missouri and Scotty Thurman of Independence, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Virginia Thurman of Buckner, Missouri; five sisters and brothers-in-law; Pauline and Bobby Wilson and Joyce Lockhart of Independence, Missouri, Betty and Ed Griffin of Blue Springs, Missouri, Mary Ellen and David Hendley of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Juanita and
Gary Petree of Sedalia, Missouri; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Lockhart of Pyatt, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, and also special friends, Bill and Debbie Goens of Harrison, Arkansas.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

There will be a memorial service held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Hills in Harrison.
