Samuel "Sam" Ramer, age 75 of Peel, Arkansas went home to be with his Lord Friday August 26, 2011.
The son of Mervin and Susie (Martin) Ramer was born November 23, 1935 in Goshen, Indiana.
He has lived in this area since 2001, moving from Leslie, Arkansas and was a member of Lead Hill First Baptist Church.
He enjoyed working, gardening, farming, carpentry and was a pastor for several years. He was also a former missionary for the American Sunday School Union.
His parents preceded him in death along with a brother and two sisters.
Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Gertude (Demuth) Ramer of the home; son, Mark Ramer and wife Emma of Harrison; daughters, Deborah Post and husband Kenneth of Hutto, Texas and Becky Ramer of Branson, Missouri; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Margaret Ramer, Paul and Pat Ramer, John and Nancy Ramer, Luke and Linda Ramer, Steve and Sandra Ramer, Danny and Lorene Ramer, and Jake and Tina Ramer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eva and Cecil Neckels, Priscilla and Les Gowan, Rachel and Ivan Ramer, Martha and Rich Aycock, Ruth and Rodney Stromlund, Joanna Penrod, Susie and Bruce Whirledge, and Faith and Randy Mobley. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew and Nathan Post and Lydia, Sarah, and Joseph Ramer.
Visitation was Tuesday August 30, 2011 with service Wednesday August 31, 2011, both at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison. Brother Rodney Fry and Brother Rodney Stromlund officiated.
Burial followed in Milum Cemetery at Lead Hill, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were Larry Anthony Housley, Carl Brown, Jackie Hinchey, Phillip Kelley, David Holvick, and Charlie Dixon. Honorary pallbearers were the members of Sam's Adult Sunday School Class at Lead Hill First Baptist Church.
