IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Samuel Arthur
Macheak
April 17, 1966 – May 25, 2024
Samuel Arthur Macheak, 58, of Little Rock, Arkansas, died on May 25, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer. Sam was born on April 17, 1966, to Gerald and Sharon Macheak. He married Carolyn (Holsted) Macheak on September 6, 1997.
Sam proudly served in the United States Air Force and the Arkansas Air National Guard, retiring in October of 2013 as a Master Sergeant. During his enlistment in the USAF, he served in the Gulf War. Sam also served in Civil Air Patrol, retiring in 2023. After his retirement, Sam worked for the National Weather Service as a weather spotter.
For several years, Sam served on the Little Rock Animal Board which supports the work of the Little Rock Animal Village. The Village was important to Sam because he found and adopted the love of his life from the Village, his cat, Angel Ann (The Princess). Sam's favorite hobby was building model airplanes and was a member of the Central Arkansas Scale Modelers Club.
Sam is survived by his wife of 26 years, Carol; her siblings, David, Doyle, Melinda, Dale, Dean, Holly, and their families; his mother and his son, Ross.
Service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas with Chaplain Steve Rogers officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Alpena Cemetery at Alpena, Arkansas.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Britt Keeton, Roger Grisham, Corey Holsted, Austin Lehr, Trey Grisham, and Ben Thompson.
