Obituary
Ruth L. Oldfield, age 90 of Jasper, Arkansas passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper.
She was born in New York, New York the daughter of B. and F. Latzer.
She was an engineer having last worked for AT&T and was the first woman engineer at RCA Laboratories developing radar and sonar equipment during World War II.
She was a member of the Jasper Pioneers EHC and had judged many events at the Newton County Fair.
She had moved to Newton County from New Hampshire twenty-six years ago.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors are her husband, Daniel G. Oldfield of the home; one daughter, Elizabeth Connolly of Massachusetts; one brother, Robert of New Jersey and a grandchild, Danny Connolly.
No services are planned.
She will be inurned in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
