Obituary
Ruth Marie (Chaney) Gilbert passed away August 8, 2016 in Harrison, Arkansas at the age of 86.
The daughter of Granville A. and Nova (Blevins) Chaney was born December 2, 1929 in Ridgeway, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Milfred "Buster" Chaney and Jim Chaney; and a sister-in-law, Carmell Chaney.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 66 years, Galen Gilbert of Harrison; two sons, Gary Gilbert and wife Shirley of Omaha, Larry Gilbert and wife Sharon of Omaha; two grandsons, Grant Gilbert of Omaha and Brett Gilbert and fiancé, Tina Wiseman of Lead Hill; two granddaughters, Ginger Vaughn and husband Todd of Omaha and Gayla Sparks and husband Wesley of Omaha; six great grandchildren, Steven Gilbert and wife Myranda, Ethan Vaughn, Jordan Vaughn, Gunner Gilbert, Vicky Gilbert and Megan Vaughn; four great great grandchildren, Avery Gilbert, Kadien Gilbert, Gracin Gilbert and Harper Ruth Gilbert.
She is also survived by her brother, Dick Chaney; two sisters-in-law, Doris Chaney and Grada (Gilbert) Dickey, whom she talked to every day.
Ruth devoted her whole life to her family and loved them unconditionally. Everyone who knew her will greatly miss the laughter and joy she brought to their lives.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Gass Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Reed officiating. There will be no visitation.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
