Russell Arthur Christian, Sr., 77 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.
The son of Joseph and Odessa (Wellington) was born on March 2, 1944 in Keene, New Hampshire.
Russell worked for Decato Brother's Trucking based out of Lebanon, New Hampshire off and on for over 30 years until they closed in 2000. He also operated an auto body repair and custom paint shop. He was a longtime resident of Canaan, New Hampshire before moving to the Ozarks to live near his daughters. He attended Crossroads Community Church.
He enjoyed camping and driving racecars, but he was most passionate about truck driving. Russell's main priority was always his family. He was a devoted husband, father and brother. He was proud of his children and their accomplishments. He loved his family and they will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life and wife of 52 years, Barbara Jean Christian and a son, Joseph Rayburn Christian.
Russell is survived by his son, Russell Christian, Jr., and wife Andrea of Canaan NH; his daughters, Kathleen Carter and husband Mark and Kimberley Dyer and husband Rickey both of Harrison, AR; two brothers, Scott Christian and wife Joan of Canaan, NH and James Christian and wife Barbara of Woodsville, NH; a brother-in-law, Mark Houston and wife Denise of Canaan, NH; seven grandchildren, Michael Dyer, Blake Carter, Alexandrah Carter, Brianna Turner, Vyasa Molloy, Desirae Molloy and Josephine Christian; 10 great grandchildren plus one on the way and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and trucking and racing family who will mourn his passing.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
