Roy M. Wilson, age 74 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away on November 13, 2015 at home. The son of Ben and Ruby (Strickland) Wilson on January 7, 1941 in Sparks, Nevada.
Roy was raised on the Diamond B ranch in Utah and loved the Western look, always wearing his boots and hat.
He joined the U.S. Navy when he was 17, working as a weatherman, and served in the Vietnam War. He was an amateur boxer while in the Navy, boxing on Midway Island and later as a pro in Nevada.
He had been a resident of this area 12 years coming from Phoenix, AZ. He worked in sign maintenance with Billboards in Phoenix, AZ and was a truck driver.
He loved his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed watching them play sports. He enjoyed watching all sports and CNN with his coffee and his dogs.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, 1 brother, Butch Wilson, 2 nephews, Rodney and David, and his favorite dog, Charlie.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Wilson of the home, spending the last 38 years with her; 3 sons, Troy Bonner of Portland, OR; Roy M. Wilson, Jr. of Jerome, ID; Gabriel Wilson of Boise, ID; 2 step sons; Thomas Alford of Rowlett, TX; Christopher Alford of Phoenix, AZ; 2 daughters, Ruby Ann Wilson and Rita Wilson both of Bellevue, ID; 2 stepdaughters, Melissa Hall of Berryville, AR and Sandra Resendez of Phoenix, AZ; a half brother, Fred Wilson of Fernley, NV; a stepbrother, Larry Wilson of Sparks, NV; 2 half sisters, Marcia Thompson of Reno, NV and Billye Silvester of ID; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Memorial services are Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Coffman Chapel with Edward Franks officiating.
