Obituary

Roy Earl Henderson, age 76 of Wayton, Arkansas passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at his home. He passed away surrounded by his family.

He was born April 23, 1934 at Wayton, Arkansas the son of Robert and Faye (Taylor) Henderson.

Roy was a member of the Wayton United Baptist Church and was a devout Christian. He enjoyed serving the Lord and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a talented musician and his love for music will live on. Some of his music is now being played across the country, with Amazing Grace being #6 on the charts in Sweden. Roy loved his music family and he has helped many people through the years doing benefits. So everytime you hear a steel guitar, remember Roy Earl Henderson.

He had worked construction and as the train engineer at Dogpatch, USA. He was a lifetime resident of Newton County.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Lou Ham; and a grandson, William Earl Villines.

Survivors are his wife, Leta (Kilgore) Henderson of the home; a son, Jamie Henderson of Wayton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jolena and Albert Breedlove of Jasper and June and Lexie Coonts of Jasper; two step-daughters, Donna Farmer of Wayton and Linda Kilburn of Mt. Sherman; two brothers, Garnet Henderson of Springdale and Sonny Henderson of Wayton; a sister, Glenda Casey of Wayton; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Visitation was Sunday, June 13, 2010 with the service Monday, June 14, 2010 both at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Brother James Kelley and Brother Denver Cochran officiated.

Burial will follow in Wayton Cemetery with pallbearers being Roy's grandsons, Robbie Villines, Jeffery Villines, and Justin Henderson, and his step-grandsons, Robert Farmer, Josh Farmer, Martin Kilburn, and Tucker Kilburn.

Honorary pallbearers are nephews, Danny Ham, Craig Ham, Brock Henderson, Ryan Henderson, and Richie Henderson, also Dr. Justice, Dr. Lee, The Country Cousins Band, Hospice of the Hills staff, and all his past and present music friends.
