Roy Gene Gattis, of Harrison, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2019 and was reunited with the love of his life at the age of 87.
The son of James and Ethyl (White) Gattis was born December 7, 1931 at Yellville, Arkansas. He was a resident of Harrison since 1969 and worked as an EMT and in the medical field for most of his life. He was a US Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War and a member of Northside Church of Christ.
Roy was an avid gun collector, he enjoyed reading books and the Bible and also listening to birds. He was a loving and devoted father, husband and grandfather. He was also responsible for using his medical background and knowledge to save both of his children's lives in separate incidents.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life, Linda Gattis, in 2011 and his siblings, Howard Gattis, Neely Sue Yancey and Ray Duffy.
Roy is survived by his children, Anthony Gattis and Cherie Adams and husband Dale both of Harrison and two grandchildren, David Gattis and Sarah Gattis.
Graveside services were at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers were family and friends.
There was no visitation.
