Obituary

Rosetta Mary "Rosemary" Lockridge, age 77, of Bellefonte, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 in Springfield, Missouri.

The daughter of Oscar and Martha (Barnett) Phillips was born September 1, 1945 in Everton, Arkansas.  She was a lifelong resident of Boone County and a 1964 graduate of Valley Springs High School.  Rosemary was a member of Bellefonte Methodist Church and had worked at Kirby Drug Store for many years.

Rosemary was an avid flower gardener.  She spent hours taking care of her flowers and plants and loved to share them with others.  She enjoyed going to yard sales and baking sweets, especially brownies and pies.  She was also a talented seamstress, sewing many items for herself and others, and making countless Barbie clothes.

Rosemary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved all her grandkids tremendously, no matter their age.  She was never one to forget a birthday, including those of her nieces and nephews. Rosemary was very giving and wanted to share and do for others, even reaching out to the neighborhood kids. She always wanted people to feel welcome in her home. Her kind, generous, and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Martha Phillips; two brothers, Bill Phillips and Champ Phillips; and two sisters, Ruth Sebesta and Ruby Turner; half-brothers, Charlie Phillips, Ed Phillips, and Johnny Phillips, and half-sister, Cecil Black.

Rosemary is survived by her husband of 56 years, Guy Lockridge, Sr.; daughter, Joan Marie "Joanie" Edgmon and husband, Vince Edgmon and granddaughter, Jolie Edgmon; son, Guy Lockridge, Jr, and wife, Kristen Conway Lockridge and grandchildren, Oliva, Brady, and Brooklyn Lockridge; and son, Billy Lockridge and wife, Morgan Cole Lockridge and grandchildren, Sidney, Jackson, and Nora Jo Lockridge; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Susan Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow at Crawford Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 29 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Coffman Funeral Home.
