Obituary

Ronald Jay Jenkins, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Newton County Nursing Home. He was born November 25, 1946 in Springfield, Ohio to Norma McWilliams Jenkins and Norman Jenkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Mark Holmes.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Holmes Jenkins of Murray; son and grandson, Nathan C. Jenkins and Ethan C. Jenkins of Rogers, AR; 3 brothers, Gary Jenkins and Tim Belley of Florida and Roger Belley of Newton County and many other friends and family.

He was a tremendous athlete most of his life, played football and was president of the Wayne Warriors (high school) class of 1964.

He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was an avid motorcyclist, martial artist and hang-glider pilot.

He worked under many hats, including rancher, carpenter and satellite uplink technician. He lived life to the fullest until he was stricken with Parkinson's Disease in 2000.

He lived his final 4 1/2 years at the Newton County Nursing Home, where the amazing staff cared for him with love and devotion.

Services was Monday, August 12th at Murray Community Building with Larry Acton and Bill Lord officiating. Burial followed in LeMarr Cemetery at Murray.

Visitation was Friday, August 9th at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.

Pallbearers were his son, grandson, nephews and other relatives.
