Roma Maxine Smith, of Harrison, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. She was 86 years old.
The daughter of John Wesley and Emma Florence (Cartwright) Clark was born on August 6, 1938 in Wabbaseka, Arkansas.
Maxine was a cherished member of Valley Springs First Baptist Church for many years. She found immense joy in being a Sunday School teacher, where her love for little children shone brightly. Passionate about sewing, Maxine also treasured the time spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she took great pride in nurturing her family. Maxine's kind heart extended to all creatures, reflecting her deep love for animals as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Henry Clark, Leona Barong, Olan Clark, Ozell Clark, Harold Clark, Leon Clark, Mary Jane Jones, and Marlena Abernathy.
Survivors include her husband, Milo Jason Smith; sons, Ralph W. Hosman, Jr. and Clark E. Hosman and his wife, Tracy; daughters, Angela V. Gabbard and her husband, Chuck, Juliet Elaine Hunsaker, and Kristi LeAnn Sparks; bonus daughter, Judith Hosman; 16 grandchildren; tons of great grandchildren; one sister, Mada Belew; four stepchildren, including Tricia Young and Pamela Dixon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A small family service will take place at a later date.
