Rodney N. King, Jr. age 16 was born October 13, 1994 in Harrison, Arkansas the son of Rodney N. and Patricia Hardesty King. He died Saturday, March 12, 2011 in Bolivar, Missouri, where he had moved a few years ago.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney King, Sr.; grandfather, Pat Hardesty; and step-grandfather, Larry Farmer.

Rodney was a sophomore at Bolivar High School, where he enjoyed participating in the weights and woodworking classes. He also enjoyed boxing with friends and listening to music. His goal was to finish high school and go on to college.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia King of Newport, AR; a sister, Stefanie King and fiance' Junior Machabee of Brighton; a nephew, Skylar Bud Machabee of Brighton; his paternal grandmother, Loretta Farmer of Bergman; his paternal grandfather, Morris King of St. Joe; his maternal grandmother, Norma Hardesty of Bolivar; his maternal great-grandmother, Agnes Salmon of Brighton; aunts, April King of Harrison and Nina Bass of Springfield, MO; uncles, Mike Cooper and Morris King, Jr. both of Bergman and Norman Hardesty of Licking, MO; a friend, Dale Ferris of the home; and many cousins, other family and friends.

Visitation was Friday, March 18, 2011 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

Graveside service was Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Maple Leaf Cemetery with Dewey McGarrah officiating.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Rodney N. King, Jr. fund set up at First Federal Bank in Harrison.
