Obituary

Rodney Bohn Evans, age 71 of Harrison, Arkansas died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, February 8, 2013, after a long battle with cancer.

The youngest of five children, he was born in Clarke County, Iowa on April 12, 1941 the son of Garel W. and Frances E. (Bohn) Evans.

He was a member of Grand River First Baptist Church in Grand River, Iowa before moving to Harrison, Arkansas. He attended Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Harrison when health permitted.

Rodney began working for Miller Hardware in 1971, and did so until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and being with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bonnie Houck; mother of his sons, Carol Evans; and four brothers-in-law.

He is survived by his wife, Anne (Brown) Evans of the home; six children, Rick Evans and wife Wanda, Tony Evans and wife Pam, Mike Evans, Shelly Due and husband Andy, Dwayne Smith, and Cathy Beaver and husband Chad, all of Harrison; ten grandchildren, Tyler Evans, Matthew Evans, Aaron Evans, Brantley Due, Briley Due, Evan Sullivan, Treyvan Sullivan, Owen McCutcheon, Haley Beaver, and Cole Beaver, also all of Harrison; two sisters, Donna Brown of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Eileen Howard of Des Moines, Iowa; one brother, Ralph Evans and wife Billie of Lamoni, Iowa; one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law and their families.

Visitation was Monday, February 11, 2013 with the service Tuesday, February 12, 2013 both at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Pastor Heath Kirkpatrick officiated the service.

Burial followed in White Church Cemetery with pallbearers being sons and sons-in-law.

Honorary pallbearers were Meredith Miller, and friends and co-workers at Miller Hardware,
Dr. Cathy Clary, Dr. Pam McGarrah, and Dr. Ali Abdelaal.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Hills or to Woodland Heights Baptist Church Building Fund.
