Obituary

Robert Michael Wilt, born December 5, 1946, in Alta, Iowa, to Frank and Mary Wilt, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024 at the age of 77. Robert, fondly known as "Bob" to his friends and family, was a man of adventure, kindness, and enduring love.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy, Robert's memory will forever be cherished by his family. He leaves behind his four sons, Bob Wilt, Jack Wilt, Ryan Wilt, Tony Wilt, and stepson, Andy Fortner, and his three daughters, Bora Rasco, Ellen Palmer, and Martha Wilt, and seventeen grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.   Robert was a proud father whose love for his children was boundless.

In his youth, Robert's adventurous spirit led him to the open trails, where he found joy in Jeeping and riding horses. These activities filled his life with excitement and countless memories, embodying his love for the great outdoors and the freedom it represented.

Before founding Robert Wilt Trucking, Robert owned and operated the Redding Feed and Supply store out of an old school building in Redding, Iowa. His entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic were evident in both ventures, making him a respected figure in the community and industry.

During his retirement, Robert found happiness and companionship at the Jasper Senior Center. He cherished the time spent there, engaging in conversations and sharing stories with friends. His warm and friendly nature made him a beloved figure among his peers.

Robert's legacy is one of love, adventure, and community. His family and friends will remember him as a man who lived life to the fullest, always ready for a new journey or a heartfelt conversation.

A memorial service will be at a later date in Mt Ayr, IA.
