Robert Q. Smith, age 19 of Alpena, AR, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008 at St. John's Hospital in Berryville, AR.

The son of Elizabeth Ann Smith, was born April 8, 1988 at Berryville.

He had been a lifelong resident of this area and had graduated from Green Forest High School in 2007. He had attended the Assembly of God Church in Alpena.

Robert enjoyed special olympics, especially bowling, basketball, and track and field. He loved music and in later years enjoyed playing video games with his cousins.

His great grandparents, Verlin and Edith Smith, preceded him in death, along with his great grandfather, R.R. "Shorty" Bower and an aunt, Katherine Marie Smith.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Elizabeth Ann and
Lester Straw, of Stotts City, MO; sister, Elizabeth Brooke Jones, of Alpena; great grandmother, Golden Bower, of Jasper; grandparents, Charles K. and Shirley M. Smith, of Alpena; three aunts, Shirlene Van Winkle and her husband, Lloyd, of Pottsville, AR, Dana Dickard and
her husband, Danny, of Alpena, and Lora Campbell and her husband, Mike, also of Alpena; cousins, Hannah and Andrew Van Winkle, Derrick, Dustin, and Cher'ra, and Cameron Dickard, Timothy and Terry, and Emily and Michael Campbell; and many other relatives.

Visitation was Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Service followed Wednesday at Piercetown Holiness Church with Rev. Charles Christian officiating. Interment was in Smith Cemetery at Vendor. Pallbearers are Lloyd Van Winkle, Danny Dickard, Derrick Dickard, Dustin Dickard, Mike Campbell, and Lester Straw. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Straw, Michael Campbell, and Andrew Van Winkle.
