Obituary
Robert Eugene "Gene" Eidson, age 86 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away at Hillcrest Home Thursday August 25, 2011.
The son of Ernest and Cora (Jones) Eidson was born December 16, 1924 in Lebanon, Missouri.
He starting preaching in 1952 and pastored churches in Leesburg, MO, Buffalo, MO, Lebanon, OH, Jefferson City, MO, and Joplin, MO. He also pastored in Harrison for 31 years and retired in 1999 at Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; one brother; a son, John Eidson; a daughter, Sandra Eidson; a granddaughter, Candice Smith; and a great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Teague.
Survivors are his wife of 67 years, Wanda (Roberts) Eidson of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Larry Shull of Springfield, MO, Brenda and Don Smith of Harrison, and Donna and Greg Saylors of Lead Hill, AR; grandchildren, Ty Shull, Tiffany Kennedy, Lisa Muellerman, Jason Eidson, Brett Smith, Briana Teague, and Hunter Saylors; and nine great-grandchildren.
There was no visitation. Service was Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Williams, Rev. Mark Bailey, and Rev. Bobby Brown officiating.
Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery with pallbearers being Ty Shull, Jason Eidson, Brett Smith, and Hunter Saylors. Honorary pallbearers are the Staff of Hillcrest Home and a special friend, Tony Ko of Honolulu, Hawaii.
