Obituary

Robert E. Johnson, age 79 of Lead Hill, AR passed away at his home, Sunday, June 17, 2007, after a fifteen year battle with prostate cancer.

Bob was born June 21, 1927 in Appleton, WI. He was a WWII Army Veteran and attended Carthage College. He then became affilliated with his family's furniture business. Later he moved to Minneapolis, where he owned and operated an Imperial 400 Motel, before moving to Grand Junction, CO, where he owned another motel. While living in Lead Hill during the last 35 years, Bob and his wife raised chickens for Tyson's and introduced Limousine cattle to the area, as well as operating a candy store in Branson, MO, which was known for its British Butter Almond Toffee.

Bob is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bobbie" Campbell Hinnant Johnson; his three children, Steve Johnson and wife, Patti, Lynn and husband, Roman Silveira, and Kurt Johnson and wife, Linda, all of Fruita, CO; a step-daughter, Syma and husband, Bruce Medley of Lead Hill, AR; a step-son, Mark Hinnant and wife, Debbie of Fruita, CO; ten grandchildren; one great granddaughter; four step-grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; a sister, Greta and husband, Bart Hammond of Waupaca, WI and Marco Island, FL; and a brother, Richard L. Johnson of Vancouver, BC.

Bob was a multi-faceted talented and quiet man, he epitomized the phrase, "Still waters run deep".

Memorial service was Friday, June 22, 2007 at the BNC Church in Bergman, AR. Bruce Medley officiated. Inurnment of Bob's cremated remains will be in Louis C. Wichmann family mausoleum in Appleton's Riverside Cemetery in Appleton, WI.

Arrangements have been handled by Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
