Robert Charles "Bob" Cooper of Harrison, Arkansas departed this life on March 15, 2025, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was 72 years old. He was born at Marshall, Arkansas on March 28, 1952, to Charles Noah and Betty Jo (Peerson) Cooper of Snowball. He was a faithful son, brother, and uncle, and a good friend to many. He attended Capps Full Gospel Church. He had a strong moral compass, was a dreamer for better things, and always looked to do good for others.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and sister, Judie Augusta Latimer. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Cooper Ervin (Jim); niece, Lana Augusta Latimer; brother-in-law, Wayne Latimer; stepdaughter, Susan Farmer Collmorgen (Jason) and her mother, Darlene Massey; aunt, Mildred Greathouse and many cousins, good friends, and neighbors.
He grew up on a farm outside Bellefonte, Arkansas and attended Valley Springs School. He graduated from Harrison High School, running track there in the 880. He attended Arkansas Tech at Russellville and studied Broadcast Law, Telecommunication and Video Production at the University of Tulsa.
He worked at Dogpatch USA for several years, managed the paddle boat ride and skating rink, and was operations manager there. He joined the transportation industry and worked in carrier management, dispatch, driver management, DOT compliance, safety, drug and alcohol policy and third-party logistics. He worked at American Freight Logistics, LLC as a member/manager, Ozark Timber Freight as the general manager, HazNet Communications as owner/manager, American Freightways as transportation supervisor, and Legal Logistics, LLC as owner/manager. He was a Member/Manager of Legal Video Network, LLC, was a certified videographer and offered free video production to Harrison Non-Profits. He also worked as a process server in local counties. He was a former State Director of the Arkansas Jaycees and former board member of House of Hope in Harrison.
He loved the land but favored quality cattle breeding and management. Joe Dearing mentored him, and he enjoyed mentoring his stepdaughter, Susan, in cattle management and showmanship. He was elated as she won several honors including First Place Showmanship and Grand Champion Commercial Heifer at the Boone County Fair with her Brahman named Cremelle. He managed and facilitated artificial insemination for cattle breeding, favoring Salers, Brahma, and Braler breeds. He owned and co-owned several prize-winning cattle including Black Beauty, 1993 Grand Champion Eastern Division, Louisville, Kentucky and American Royal, Kansas City and GOLDBAR, 1993 Canadian Champion and 1994 US National Champion, among others with county, regional, and state honors.
A cowboy at heart, he loved the rodeo, rode calves as a child then Brahma bulls later as a hobby, placing first place in High School Rodeo. He was a lifetime supporter of high school and college basketball. He had a fondness for square body trucks and was restoring his 1985 GMC pickup. He also loved landscape and vegetable gardening and enjoyed managing and working in the Harrison Community Garden.
A celebration of life is planned for Bob on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Coffman Funeral Home, 501 Old Bellefonte Road, Harrison, Arkansas. Visitation will be at 10 am with service following at 11 am. Pastor Eddie Reed will officiate. A private burial is planned for a later date.
