Ricky J. Lackey, age 50 of Low Gap, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville.
The son of Sanford and Betty (Carlton) Lackey, he was born May 31, 1958 in Harrison.
Ricky served four years in the military with two years being served overseas in Germany. After leaving the military, he was employed at Tyson's for 16 years. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and digging for arrowheads.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Doy and Opha Carlton and Joe Burl and Jennie Lackey; his mother-in-law, Amber Wallace; and a great nephew, Randy Lee Lackey.
Survivors are his wife, Shana Lackey; his parents, Sanford and Betty Lackey; two sisters, Sandy and Shena Lackey all of Low Gap; one brother, Randy Lackey; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Tara Lackey of Low Gap; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Daniel Russell of Compton; one grandson, Waylon Joe Russell; nephews, Cody Lackey of Low Gap, Chris Lackey of Ozark, MO; a niece Eleisha Madison; two brothers-in-law, Phillip and Craig Wallace and many other friends and loved ones.
Visitation was Tuesday, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 21st at Low Gap Church with burial in Low Gap Cemetery. Bro. Donnie Villines officiated.
Pallbearers were Brian and Cody Lackey, Daniel Russell, Brett Eddings, Larry and David Clark. Honorary pallbearers were his grandson, great nephews and nieces,Waylon Russell, Caleb and Cylan Lackey, Corey White, Harleigh, Makaila and Tylar Madison.
