Ricky James Engle, 61 of Dry Fork, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Cox Medical Center in Branson surrounded by his family.
Ricky was born at Newport, Arkansas on January 13, 1958, the son of James and Alice (Brown) Engle. He was a former resident of Western Grove for 17 years before he and his wife moved to Dry Fork in 2004. He was an employee of APAC Central in Fayetteville for the past 35 years. He was also a member of the Coon Hunting Association.
He loved coon huntin', fishin', camping and traveling. He has gone on many vacations with his family, giving them many memories and adventures to treasure. He also enjoyed working with pee wee basketball and traveling basketball teams, spending several years coaching his children and grandchildren.
Ricky loved playing with his grandbabies, and was their beloved Pe-paw, or as he described it, "the smartest man you'll ever know". He was their mentor, role model and teacher.
Ricky never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone. He was the best husband, father and grandfather you could ask for and will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, Ora Belle Crawford, his father-in-law, Robert Sutterfield, Sr., a sister-in-law, Rhonda Meyer and lifelong friend, Tony Poor.
Ricky is survived by his wife of 42 years, Becky Engle of Dry Fork; his three children, Stephanie Engle Kimes (Frank Wheeler, Jr.) of Berryville, Tiffany Ricketts and husband Shannon of Western Grove and Josh Engle and wife Kelsey of Jasper; six grandchildren, Taylor and Joseph Kimes, Shayna and Brandon Ricketts and Kambry and Jett Engle; a brother, David Engle and wife Stacey of Fayetteville; two sisters, Jan Sawa and husband Greg of Mandeville, LA and Candy Tollett and husband Rob of Eureka Springs; a brother-in-law, Robert Sutterfield and wife Lisa of Ozark and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Guy Looper officiating and John Wiles of APAC speaking. Burial will follow at Western Grove Cemetery. Immediately following graveside services, the family invites you to share a meal and fellowship at the Durand Center, 303 North Main, Harrison, AR, 72601.
Pallbearers are Kelly Poor, Gilbert Powell, Monte Hoskins, Cody Nelson, Travis Goodman, Randy Belding, Gabe Hensley, Quinton Zellar and Lexie Coonts.
Honorary pallbearers are Randy Hudson, Jim Whittenberg, Martin Glover, Luther Sharp and Rick's APAC Central work family.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
