W. Hoyet
March 26, 1938 – October 31, 2023
Richard W. Hoyet, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at his home. He was 85 years old.
The son of Wilbert and Nancy Hoyet, Dick was born on March 26, 1938 in Kokomo, Indiana.
An exemplary member of The Knights of Columbus, Dick was Past Grand Knight of Council 10050, and Past Faithful Navigator of Assembly 1805, both in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he was also parish administrator of St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church & School. His recent involvement with the Knights was Council 8410 in Harrison.
Dick founded the Alaska Maritime Industries, and also spent 35 years in senior management in the banking industry. He achieved the founding of Hoyet and Associates, which helped to restore the status of several collapsing banks.
An avid fly fisherman, he was a member of the North Arkansas Fly Fishers, the Arizona Flycasters, and taught the Orvis Fly Fishing School at Dogwood Canyon, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jo Hoyet, his bride of 53 years; his parents, Wilbert and Nancy Hoyet, and Olive Myers Hoyet; in-laws, Charles and Mary Jo Stevenson; and brothers, Kim M. Hoyet and Bill Myers.
Survivors include his sons, Michael J. Barrett (Kelly), Richard A. Hoyet (Julie), and Timothy A. Hoyet (Linda R.); his daughters, Lisa Marie Hornung (Mark) and Theresa M. Harman; sisters, Jo Swanson (Dan) and Judy Spencer (John); Linda's siblings, Debra (and Steve Howard) and Rick Stevenson; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Memorial Mass for both Dick and Linda will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church. The Celebrant will be Father Ben Riley. A rosary will precede the Mass at 1:30 PM
