IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Allen
Hoppis, Sr.
May 27, 1960 – June 30, 2025
Richard Allen Hoppis, Sr., age 65, of Hasty, Arkansas, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025 in Mountain Home surrounded by his family.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Argie and Frances (Thornsberry) Hoppis.
Richard was born in Wichita, Kansas on May 27, 1960. He attended Western Grove School and loved the games of baseball and basketball. He became a truck driver and enjoyed all the various places that job took him. His most recent endeavor was salsa which everyone loved. He even shipped several orders out of state and was grateful for the friendships he made selling it.
Richard is survived by his children, Jami Norton, Jodie Spears and husband Randal, and Richard Hoppis, Jr. and wife Sandy, siblings; Tammy Cooper and husband Tim and Teresa Martin and husband Ronnie, nine grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Richard was a follower of Christ and attended several local churches and loved Jesus with all his heart.
To say Richard was a character would be an understatement. Richard never met a stranger and loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. His love was evident in the conversations we had and in the sincerity in which he spoke.
Richard was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and farm. He passed these attributes onto his children, who are so proud to call him "dad". Richard was always quick on the draw with a smart comeback or snarky comment that was always followed by a laugh that came directly from his loving heart. Richard loved his community. He loved supporting his Ozark Mountain Bears and attending local events and family get togethers.
A special thanks goes out to staff of Baxter Regional Medical Center for everything they do every day.
Richard will be greatly missed by his family, community and customers, and cannot wait to strike up a conversation when we meet him in heaven.
Pallbearers include Blain Roberson, BJ Morris, Josh Freeman, Jacob Olivan, Corey Hoppis, Adam Keymer, and Brandon Thompson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jensen Spears, Greysen Spears, Brady Isbell and his loyal salsa customers.
