Sherman Richard Ervin, age 77 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The son of Sherman and Zella (Kirk) Ervin was born October 3, 1937 in San Bernadino, California.
Richard was a member of Oak Lane Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, working crossword puzzles and playing the banjo. He was in the United States Marine Corp and was a machinist for Boeing Aircraft. He was a member of the Son's of the Confederates.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Ervin; and two infant sons, Stuart and Samuel Ervin.
Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Gloria Ervin of the home; daughter, Arlene Ervin of Dana Point, California; granddaughter, Amanda Ervin; a niece, Marla; and two nephews, Phillip and Terry.
There was open visitation Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Service was Friday, November 7, 2014 at Oak Lane Freewill Baptist Churc. Pastor Lonnie Burks officiated.
Burial followed in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
