IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Paul
Cousineau, Ii
June 21, 1961 – August 18, 2023
Richard Paul Cousineau II, age 62 of Harrison, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2023. The son of Richard and Theresa (Diederich) Cousineau was born on June 21, 1961 in Santee, California.
Richard began his career as a Geotechnical Engineer in Southern California working with his father and brother, Stephan. He loved being outside on job sites with the crews and was passionate about ensuring that everything was done right from the ground up.
Richard was a proud and devoted father to his son Brett Soanes of Harrison, and daughter Gail Holcomb of Paso Robles CA, and being Grandpa to Colson Holcomb.
Richard reconnected with Debbie Hayes of Harrison about 10 years ago. They had gone to high school together in Hacienda Heights, CA, and dated briefly. Debbie invited Richard to visit in 2014 and when he did, he fell in love with her and the Ozarks, and Harrison became his forever home.
Richard attended Fellowship Bible Church in Harrison. He was baptized in the Buffalo River by Pastor Tyre and became a faithful member of the congregation. He was excited to be at Sunday services and to fellowship with his new friends. In the beginning he would say to Debbie, "thank you for forcing me to go to church", and quickly embraced his church home. Pastors Paul Tyre and Jeff Kinley led Richard to his decision for Christ. They met him at work (in the rain) and gave him a study Bible. Committing his life to Jesus was the most gratifying moment of his life.
Richard just loved being outdoors, going fishing, sitting under the trees at his favorite fishing hole or anywhere in nature taking pictures. A perfect day would include a ride on his Harley, fishing, (maybe catching a few), grilling in the backyard, and talking/hanging out with his family and friends. Nearly every day he would post a picture on Facebook proclaiming "Good mornin y'all". He had quite a following of friends all over the country. Our favorite pictures were his original photos of sunrises, animals, birds, insects, and plants and trees.
Richard is survived by his wife Debbie Hayes, children Brett Soanes and Gail Holcomb (Robbie), Debbie's sons Jimmy Hayes and David Hayes, his sisters Stephanie Holding (Terry), Carol Sealy, Helen Homet (Doug), and brother Stephan Cousineau (Alexandra), grandchildren Colson Holcomb, Zachary, Anthony and Declan Hayes, and uncles Jim Diederich and Deane Salter, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
