Richard Lynn Chasteen, 76 of Wayton, Arkansas, passed away at The Springs Nursing Home in Harrison, Arkansas on April 3, 2025.
The son of Hersil Ray Chasteen and Cora Brashers Chasteen was born on November 5, 1948, in Vanduser, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a baby brother, and 2 sisters, Corolin Daughtry of High Springs, Florida, and Patrica Chasteen of Lake City, Florida.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Tracy (Joe) Outlaw and their children, all of Peru, IN and Jennifer Brawley and her two children, all of White Water, MO; 3 brothers and 3 sisters, Robert and Lorreta Chasteen of Welcome Ridge, AR, Ronald Chasteen of Parthenon, AR, Kenneth Chasteen of Lake City, FL, Anita Lovet of Inola, OK, Rita Joyce Brannon of Lake Butler, FL, Susan McDonald and Keith Blackie of Lake City, FL, and his special friend Shirly Skaggs of Jasper and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces.
Richard was a retired carpenter and cement man. He worked for many years with ED and Glen Smith. If a job was worth doing, it was worth doing it right, and that is how they built. Richard loved camping, fishing, and hunting. He would camp for weeks at a time.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Richard at the Parthenon Community Building on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM in Parthenon, AR. Everyone is welcome to come help celebrate his life.
