Obituary

Rhonda was born May 25, 1945, the second of three daughters to Ray and Juanita Clark in Coquille, Oregon.  Though raised in Powers, Oregon, she felt more at home when visiting her grandparents each summer in Boxley and Parthenon where she met and eventually married Hap Teter in 1964.  Rhonda and Hap raised 4 girls, RaLenn, Cary, Jenny, and Sara on their dairy farm in Parthenon.

Rhonda was extremely proud of her Newton County heritage and spent several years researching her Clark family ancestry.  With her love of genealogy and history, she served several years as president of the Newton County Historical Society.

Rhonda was a founding board member of the Newton County Special Services.  Rhonda worked a short time as a Postmaster in Parthenon, as a reporter for the Newton County Times, as a cook at Point of View restaurant in Jasper, and retired after 25 years as an employee of Bank of the Ozarks in Jasper.

Rhonda loved to garden, make dolls celebrating her Indian heritage, and write historical fiction based on her ancestry research.

Rhonda passed from this life on August 8, 2024, at the age of 79 with all four girls at her bedside.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Phylis Reser.

She is survived by former husband, Hap Teter, of Harrison; sister, MaryAnn Sparks of Coos Bay, OR; daughters, RaLenn McBee (Carl) of Flippin, AR, Cary Foley (Bobby) of Harrison, AR, Jenny House (Kelvin) of Low Gap, AR, and Sara Richmond (Andy) of Hugo, OK; her grandchildren, Josh Kawai, Amelia Bower, Kevin Hudson, Allison Foley, Caleb House, Morgan Richmond, Shelli Casey, Tabitha Stockdale, Carl McBee JR, Sarah Jones and Chanda Klenczar; and her great-grandchildren; Lana, Matilda, Dorothy, Levi, Kellan, Audra, Jeremiah, Dustin, Lizlynn, Layne, Luke, Carl (Pete), Lucy, Jaxton and Kaylee.
