Raymond Sands, age 79 of Harrison, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.

The son of Joseph Raymond and Birdie (Evans) Sands, he was born November 29, 1929 at Bergman, AR.

He served his country in the U. S. Army and was a resident of Boone County most of his life. He had worked as a supervisor at Harrison Furniture and Acme Laundry before working for Barrett Plastics in Harrison.
Raymond enjoyed the outdoors and especially gardening. He also liked to hunt and fish. His newest joy was seeing and spending time with his granddaughter, Halle.

His parents; two brothers and four sisters all preceded him in death.

Survivors are his sons, Brad Sands and wife Emmalea of Harrison; Phillip Richardson, his wife, Debbie and their two children all of Springfield, MO; a daughter, Kathy Porter and husband, Sam of Strafford, MO; and two grandchildren, Joey Eaton and Halle Sands.

Visitation was Friday with services Saturday, Feb. 7th at Coffman Funeral Home.
Burial followed at Warner Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Chris Graddy, Thanh Ketchum, Larry Graddy, Michael Trammell, Matt Bodson, and T. J. Vandsandt; Honorary pallbearers were his former co-workers at Barrett Plastics; the staff at Hilltop Nursing Home and Dr. Chitsey.
