IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raymond
Barnard
March 28, 1947 – April 19, 2023
Raymond Lee Barnard, beloved husband of Lynda Milford Barnard had a glorious homecoming with his Savior, Jesus Christ, during the early morning of April 19, 2023. He was 76. If you knew him, you knew that he was a very kind, generous, helpful, humble, and loving person who loved the Lord. You can add a lot of other adjectives to describe him and still not cover all of his good qualities. He and Lynda had three wonderful years together before glioblastoma showed up in his brain. This changed everything except their love for each other. Together they struggled for the next four years to make the most of their time together.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Solon Barnard (d.2005), Margie Barnard (d.2014), his first wife Charlotte (d.2015), and a great granddaughter.
Raymond had two children, a daughter, Sherry Smith (Keith) of Prairie Grove and a son, Scott Barnard (Melissa) of Alpena; grandchildren, Ike Smith (Kelsey) of Bentonville, Bethani Valentine (Kirby) of Prairie Grove, Faith Andrews (Tanner) of Siloam, Chris Barnard (Stephanie) of Rogers, Hunter Barnard (Jennifer) of Alpena, Brady Barnard (Payton) of Green Forest. Raymond was blessed to have eight great grandchildren and two more on the way.
Raymond was stepdad to David Milford (Julie) of Evans, GA and Amanda Milford Chitsey (Blake) of Harrison, and grandchildren, Tyler Milford, Ruby Kate Chitsey, Oliver Chitsey, and Max Chitsey.
Raymond was born in Sunset, Arkansas on March 28, 1947. He had two brothers, Darrell Barnard (Betty) and Garry Barnard (Sammye) all of Valley Springs. He was blessed to be the uncle of their children.
Raymond was a 1966 graduate of Valley Springs School. His father also graduated from this school as well as both of his children. Raymond retired from Entergy, where he was employed 30 plus years. He was a member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church.
We would like to offer the entire family's thanks and appreciation to the staff of Hillcrest Home. They faithfully cared for Raymond during his brief time there. Their singing of hymns was greatly appreciated.
The funeral service will be at 10 AM, Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Eagle Heights Baptist Church with Bro. Kenny Stacey officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Pallbearers are Garry Barnard, Darrell Barnard, Ike Smith, Kirby Valentine, Tanner Andrews, Chris Barnard, Hunter Barnard, and Brady Barnard.
Honorary pallbearers are the men of Truth Seekers Connect Group at Eagle Heights led by Raymond's best friend, Barry Werner.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to Eagle Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 865, Harrison, AR 72602.
