Ray Lilburn Dean, age 72 of Deer, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison.
The son of Town Dean and Zella (Davis) Dean was born October 11, 1940 at Bass, Arkansas.
He moved back to Deer in 2008 after living and working in Springdale for 43 years. He was married to the love of his life for 51 years.
Ray loved God, reading his Bible and faithfully attending his church, Pine Grove, on Smith Mountain Road. He also loved spending time with his family, hunting and riding his four wheeler. His hearts desire was to be loved by everyone and be a good Christian man.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters, John Dean, Homer Dean, Bonnie Peoples and Elva Garrett.
Survivors are his wife, Greta (Stone) Dean of Deer; one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Loy Counts of Deer; one son, Mike Dean of Springdale; one brother, Kenneth Von Dean of Deer; four sisters, Vernie Sams of Hartman, AR, Velma Mifflin of Scottsdale, AZ, Flora Ann Rush of Jasper and Wilma Middleton of Vendor; two grandchildren, Courtnie Dean and Tanner Counts; two great-grandchildren Rylie and Ethan and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Brother Loy Counts and Brother James Compton officiating.
Burial followed in Ft. Douglas Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.
Visitation was Friday, October 11, 2013 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Robert Dodson, David Casey, Will Smith, Danny Clayborn, Kenny Dean and Johnny Dean. Honorary pallbearers were Howard Dewayne Roberts, David Faught, Roy Clayborn, Jeff Clayborn, Roger Atkinson, Drew Atkinson, David "DW" Dean, Craig Villines, Johnny Bohannon, Kenneth Lynch and Johnny Proud.
