Ramona "Cookie" Gay, 72 of Harrison, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

The daughter of Binam and Velma (Flud) Martin was born August 31, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri and was raised in Mount Judea, Arkansas. She married the love of her life, Ed Gay on July 19, 1969. They moved to Kansas City to work and raise their family and returned to Arkansas in 2007. She worked 17 years for AT&T Technologies in Lee's Summit.

Ramona was a faithful member of Faith Life Church in Branson, where she had served 17 years in the nursery and in the Senior Bible Study Ministry. She had a tremendous faith and love of the Lord, and His word. She loved to serve God and be in fellowship with her church family. Ramona was a prayer warrior, praying daily for her family and the needs of others. The Lord and His word were always first in her life, and she was always prepared with scripture to share and uplift others.

"Cookie" to most of her family and friends, enjoyed holding babies, spending time with her sisters, cooking large meals for family, having her two puppies by her side, loving on her kids, nieces, nephews, grandkids, and great grandkids. She was always blessing others with cash. Cookie was a mother figure to her siblings; they always came to her when they needed anything. After the passing of her mother in 2018, she became the matriarch of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Rex Martin and Jack Martin; and a brother-in-law, James Elmore, Jr.

Cookie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ed Gay; her two children, Ed Gay, Jr., and wife Karen and Rachelle Halsey and husband John; five siblings, Buck Martin and wife Jane, Mike Martin, Morna Stone and husband Ricky, Lisa O'Neal and husband Rod, and Stella Maberry and husband David; three grandchildren, Christian Gay, Ambreana Gay, and Jaden Alvarez; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many dear friends who loved her and will miss her.

Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Wednesday, June 26 (2024) at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Pastor Ricky Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 25 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Coffman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Jaden Alvarez, Christian Gay, Brandon Martin, Jamin Martin, Nathan Martin, Tommy Maberry, and Heath O'Neal.

Honorary pallbearers are Merit Waller and Madden Waller.
