Obituary

Ralph "Bud" Hammons, age 68 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008 at his home.

The son of Ralph Hammons, Sr. and Bobbie (Mitchell) Hammons, he was born September 30, 1940 in Jacksboro, Texas.

His parents preceded him in death.

Bud had lived in this area most of his life and was a member of Batavia Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed going to car shows, meeting with his buddies for coffee, and spending time with his wife and family. He also enjoyed reading the Bible and living for the Lord. He was a member of the Republican National Committee.

Bud's survivors are his wife of 49 years, Jo Marie (Waits) Hammons of the home; daughters, Bobbie Jo Hammons of Harrison and Lynette (Hammons) Coleman of Pyatt; sisters, Jody Davis of Republic, MO and Karen Gates of Springdale, AR; three grandchildren, Stephanie and husband, Jason Krueger of Branson West, MO, Brandon Lee and wife, Jordan of Harrison, and Dana and husband, Ben Burns of Harrison; and five great grandchildren, Julia, Tyler, Nathan, Benjamin, and Grady. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation was Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Services were Friday, December 5, 2008 at Batavia Assembly of God with Rev. Tollie Sutterfield and Pastor Bill Burris officiating. Burial was in Grubb Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Terry Yeager, Larry Davis, Donnie Jackson, Joel Goats, Ralph Watkins,and Mike Stewart. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Greenough, Ralph Kroamer, Dean Aumsbaugh, and Phillip Newberry.
