Preston Paul Lackey, age 89 of Low Gap, Arkansas passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Harrison, Arkansas.
The son of Joe Beryl and Jennie Viola (Scroggins) Lackey was born on November 18, 1927 in Low Gap.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Preston is survived by his wife of 69 years, Billie Walker Lackey of Low Gap; one son, Ronnie Paul Lackey and wife Shirlene of Low Gap; 3 daughters, Deborah Ruth Edgmon and husband Ron of Conway, Arkansas, Beverly Joy Newton of Low Gap and Billie Paulette Higginbotham and husband Jeremy of Texarkana, Texas; one brother, Sanford Lackey of Low Gap, 6 grandchildren, Toinette Madison, Greg Lackey, Kristie Aulds, Rebecca Fountain, Trey Newton and Preston Higginbotham; 12 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends who will mourn his passing.
Services will be held Thursday, July 27 at 10:00 am at the Coffman Chapel in Jasper with Raymond White and Kelvin House officiating. Burial will follow at Low Gap Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home in Jasper.
Pallbearers include Greg Lackey, Glendon Lackey, Lucas Madison, Walter Aulds, Trey Newton and Johnie Fountain. Honorary pallbearers include Joey Fierro, Kylan Fierro, Dale Villines, Cody Lackey, Brian Lackey and Randy Lackey.
