IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Peggy
Upton
February 7, 1936 – January 16, 2026
Peggy Upton, of Harrison, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026. She was 89 years old.
The daughter of Dorr and Allene (Egner) Bufford was born on February 7, 1936 in Paragould, Arkansas.
Peggy had a deep love for the color purple and found great joy in flowers, especially orchids. She devoted her life to two meaningful callings. Her first and most cherished role was that of a loving wife and mother, a role she embraced with her whole heart. Her second career was as a hairdresser and beautician, where her warmth and talent allowed her to build lasting relationships with many loyal clients who became dear friends.
Peggy treasured time spent with family, especially during gatherings and reunions that brought everyone together. She also loved to travel with her husband, Les, and the two shared many happy memories, particularly on their cruises. They delighted in dining out and discovering the very best restaurants and food wherever they went. Peggy was also a devoted fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and enjoyed cheering them on, along with her son, David.
She was a lifelong member of the Baptist faith and found comfort and community through her membership at The Grove Church in Western Grove. Peggy's kindness, joy for life, and love for family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie "Les" Upton; her parents; and one brother, Hugh Allen Bufford.
Survivors include her son, David Upton and his wife, Farrah; two daughters, Darlene Trammell and husband, Bruce, and Dee Breedlove and husband, Mike; eight grandchildren, Heath, Magan, Jessica, Jay, Chassidy, Ashley, Mickey, and Skyler; 16 great grandchildren; one brother, Freddy Bufford and wife, Sharon; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
