Peggy Jean Smithson left her earthly home to join
her Heavenly Father on June 18, 2009.
The daughter of Duard Scott and Faye (Brewer) Scott,
she was born July 9, 1937 at St. Joe, Arkanas.
She had lived most of her life in this area and was a member of the St. Joe Baptist Church. She was retired from Wal-Mart Stores as a switchboard operator.
Peggy was an animal lover and gave a home to several dogs and cats over the years.
Mrs. Smithson was preceded in death by her father Duard Scott; her brothers-in-law, Bob Lane and Dorwin Smithson; her Father-in-law, Jack Smithson; her Mother-in-law, Ola Smithson; and her sister-in-law, Bobbie Blair.
Peggy Jean is survived by her husband, Reverend James Dorphis Smithson of the home;her mother, Faye Scott of Harrison; her Brother, Jack Scott of Ozark, Arkansas; her sisters, Joann Lane of Wichita, Kansas and Lana Kay Jackson and her husband Ron of Boise, Idaho; her sister-in-law, Wilma Smithson of Dongola,a brother-in-law, Willard Blair of Dongola,Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were Monday, June 22, 2009 at Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Smithson officiating. Burial followed in Love Cemetery in St. Joe, Arkansas. Visitation was Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Bradley Hankins, Larry Smithson, Jim Smithson, Jackie Smithson, Melvin Hankins, and Terry Adams.
