Edith Pauline Madewell, age 78, went to her eternal home on January 18, 2022.

Beloved wife, mother, nana and friend, she was born in her Newton County home on January 2, 1944, to Paul and Josephine Raney, the second of four children. She married her high school sweetheart and in their 60 years together they raised 3 children and had a big hand in helping with their grandchildren. Pauline's greatest joys in life came from her grandchildren and always being active in her church, Jasper Assembly of God.

Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, two sisters, Kathryn Hicks and Margaret Daniels Kelley, her sister-in-law, Erika Raney and her brother-in-law, Gary Hicks.

Pauline is survived by her husband Larry Madewell of Jasper, daughter Donna McDaniel and husband Kyle of Jasper, son Michael Madewell and wife Judy of San Antonio, Texas, daughter Melissa Holt and husband Steve of Jasper, grandchildren Lindsey (J.D) Graham , Ryan (Chelsey) McDaniel, Jordan (Brent) Gwin , Zachary (Kaylan) Holt , Ian Madewell, Kenadee Holt, Emma Madewell and , 8 very special great grandchildren, Abi Graham, Mason McDaniel, Cooper Graham, Raney McDaniel, Nate Graham, Noah Graham, Lainey Adkins and Maryn Gwin. One brother, Earl Raney of Jasper and many nieces & nephews.

Funeral service will be 11:00AM Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Jasper Assembly Church with Pastor Steve Holt officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Sherman Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:00AM Saturday prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be J.D Graham, Ryan McDaniel, Zachary Holt, Mason McDaniel, Cooper Graham, Jarrett Davis and Brent Gwin.
