Paula Irene Van Stralen, age 69, of Western Grove, Arkansas, formerly of California, passed away July 24, 2026 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.

The daughter of Carlos and Elisa Veta (Becker) Ostray was born July 23, 1957 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her family moved to the United States and settled in California in 1965. She spent most of her life in California, and a few years in Texas before moving to Arkansas in October 2023.

Paula enjoyed sewing and coloring with her grandsons. She loved spending time at Lake Whiskeytown in Northern California. She also enjoyed riding her Quad until her health no longer permitted. She loved being a Gigi and spending time with her grandsons.

She was loving, caring, and thoughtful. She was funny, silly and just a joy to be around - especially to her grandbabies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steve Van Stralen; two sisters, Sholly and Annie; and three brothers, Carlos, Jr., Henry, and Horace.

Paula is survived by her daughters, Sarah Van Stralen (Kevin Lindsay) and Nichol Van Stralen; two grandsons, Lane and Luke Lindsay; a brother David; a sister, Grace; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in California.
