Paul L. Wilton, Jr., age 93, of Harrison, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2023 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.

The son of Paul L. Wilton, Sr., and Kathryn Elizabeth (Veach) Wilton was born December 31, 1929 in Orange, New Jersey.

At 19 years of age, he married 18-year-old Judith "Millet" Elleby, and they had two children, Diedre and Scott.  He then served 8 years in the US Air Force, where he became an air traffic controller. During his service, he was stationed in Bermuda during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged on July 4, 1959, he began his career with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Paul married Carol Harvey in 1972 and adopted her daughter, DeeDee, who he called his "bonus baby". Paul retired from the FAA in 1985, and he and Carol traveled the states on their Goldwing Motorcycle.  While traveling, they discovered the beautiful Ozarks, moved to Arkansas, and built their dream home in 1997.  They were members of Hopewell Baptist Church and loved their church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Judith "Millet" Elleby; his son, Scott Wilton; a brother-in-law, Richard "Dick" Thomason; and two nieces, Susan McConnell and Darcy Ruane.

Paul is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol Anne Wilton of Harrison, AR; his daughters, M. Diedre Wilton-Kuna (Sandor Kuna) of Merlin, OR, and Judith Denise "DeeDee" Wilton of Harrison, AR; a daughter-in-law, Sally Wilton of San Luis Obispo, CA; three grandchildren, Avalon Jade Wilton, Kyle Lloyd Black (Rebecca), and Paul LaVerne Wilton, III; three great grandchildren, Payton Rose Black, Shea Elizabeth Simas, and Kyle James Black; his brother, James Veach Wilton of Ann Arbor, MI and his children, Jonathon Wilton (Nouansy) and Kyle Wilton (Erin) ; his sister, Barbara Wilton Thomason of Camdenton, MO; and her children, Robert Ruane (Debra), and Elizabeth "Beth" Ruane (Don Plott); and a host of extended relatives and many friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas.  Pastor Charles Edwards will officiate. Private burial will be at Carlyle Township Cemetery in Carlyle, Illinois.
