Obituary

Paul Quillen Collins, age 72 of Zinc, Arkansas died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

Paul was born April 29, 1942 at Fort Riley, Kansas a son of I.D. Quillen, Jr. and Blanch Lavern "Polly" (Williams) Quillen and was raised by his grandparents, Warren Ballerd Collins and Gertrude Angeline (Russell) Collins.

Raised in Garnett, Kansas, he graduated from Welda High School at Welda, Kansas in 1960. He earned a living as a farmer, beef packer's worker and as a truck driver. After retirement, Paul continued to generously offer his time at RSVP for several years and was awarded "Volunteer of the Year" to the community that he loved. In 1972 he accepted Christ as his Savior and preached the gospel until his death.

Paul was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Eldridge; his parents; grandparents; grandfathers, I.D. Quillen, Sr. and Ace Williams; and grandmother, Christine Christionson Williams.

With a celebration of his marriage of 54 years to Bette Jo (Thomas) Collins brought from this union are two sons, Cody Wayne Collins of Lincoln, Nebraska and Steven Warren Collins of Flippin, Arkansas; and three daughters, Mary Jo Coffman of Harrison, Paula Jean Steiner Agid of Dania Beach, Florida and Christine Broughton of Zinc, Arkansas, who all survive him.

Other survivors are 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a God daughter, Connie Bates of Zinc, Arkansas; sisters, Gayle Burris of Topeka, Kansas and Patty Caviness of Social Circle, Georgia; and a brother, Jimmy Williams of Wetumpka, Alabama.

Visitation was Tuesday, June 3, 2014 with funeral services Wednesday, June 4, 2014, both at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Frank Sanctschi and Smokie McDonald brought the "Going Home" message.

Cremation followed.

Pallbearers were Jeff Agid, Justin Coffman, George Breshears, Wayne Sims, Warren Collins, Blazer Ralls, Christopher Coffman, and Alex Collins.

Honorary pallbearers were Robert Eric Broughton and Noah Steiner.

Paul will be missed by his family and friends.

May his life time journey continue on loving the Lord, once he reaches the pearly gates.
