Obituary

Patricia M. Alge, 84, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Sunday March 18, 2018 at home.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, March 23 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM prior to the service.

The daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Whitney was born on June 29th, 1933 in Miami, Florida. She was raised in Miami with her seven siblings. She married Thomas Alge on August 31, 1951 and they had four children, she was a devoted homemaker. She later helped Thomas with his bookbinding business until 1978, when they relocated to Harrison, Arkansas. They had a small place for her to garden, raise chickens, pigs, and cows. They joined St. Paul's United Methodist church right after moving. She loved being in the Ozarks, fishing and camping at the lake.

She was all about spending time with family, organizing gatherings and just being happy to visit. She travelled all over the country visiting family and friends and being on a grand adventure.

When she was at home she was always busy with church functions, a member of Electa No. 25 of the Order of Eastern Star, United Methodist Women, hospital auxiliary "pink lady", quilting circles and volunteering with hospice programs.

She enjoyed life to the fullest and was giving to anyone in need. She loved singing in the choir, playing cards on Saturdays, relaxing at the lake, and just being with family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Thomas W. Alge; her brothers, Charles and Donald Whitney; sister-in-law Karen (Baldwin) Whitney and two daughters-in-law, Carol Sue Alge and Carol Jean Drew.

Patricia is survived by her children, Sharon Puhaida and husband Paul, Thomas Alge Jr. and wife Missy, Steven Alge and wife Lynn, and Larry Alge and wife Kellie; brothers, Roger Whitney and wife Barbara, Curtis Whitney and wife Ann, Richard Whitney and wife Marcia and John Whitney and a sister, Carol Inman and husband Jay; sisters-in-law, Sue Whitney and Dianne Whitney. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donation be made to St. Paul's United Methodist church or a local charity of your choice.
