Pastor James "Jim" Richard Allmond, 62, of Harrison, Arkansas succumbed to cancer at home surrounded by family on April 18, 2016.

(Carmen) Allmond of Pittsburg, PA and Jeremy Allmond of Harrison, AR; plus 8 grandchildren, Michael J. Balk, Gabriel Balk, Ethan Balk, Daniel Balk, Landon Allmond, Gavin Allmond, Elise Allmond and Emilyn Allmond.
Jim Allmond was born December 8, 1953 in Wichita, KS to James and Alma Allmond as the oldest of 5 children. Still surviving of his family are his mother, Alma, a sister, Connie (Richard) Fagela of Denver, CO; and his brothers, Tony (Connie) Allmond of Eldorado, KS; Steve (Jannelle) Allmond of Fort Pierre, SD and Danny (Leonica) Allmond of Benton, KS.
Jim grew up in Leon, KS where he excelled in basketball and track. After high school, he entered the US Army in December 1971 and served 7 years as a medical NCO. While serving in Korea, Jim got gloriously saved and later felt God calling him to preach. After attending and graduating from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO, Jim became pastor of his first church in Girard, KS in 1984. Since then, he has pastored 4 churches in 32 years of ministry in Kansas, Colorado, and Arkansas. During this time, he also worked in construction and the trucking industry.
Jim loved the outdoors, to include fishing and hiking when he had the chance. He loved raising chickens, ducks, geese, goats and whatever animal Angie decided to bring in, including foxes, possums and even potbelly pigs! One of his favorite spots to go with the whole family was Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. But most of all, he enjoyed it when his kids and grandkids would come to visit him.
Thank you to Legacy Hospice for all you've done for our beloved! Sharon Branning, Monica McPhee, Peggy Rowe and Melinda Houlette. Thank ya'll.
