Ova Gale Bruce, of Jasper, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 7, 2017 at NARMC in Harrison, at the age of 88.
The daughter of Claud Melvin and Pairlee (Flud) Bolin was born November 12, 1928 in Vendor.
She was of Pentecostal faith and had lived in Newton County most of her life. She enjoyed gardening and baking cakes. Ova was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved taking care of her grandbabies, she loved her family very much. She and Abel married on September 21, 1947 and would have celebrated 70 years together this year.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kent Allen Bruce and two sisters, Pauline Flood and Claudia Donley.
Ova is survived by her husband, Abel Junior Bruce; her son, Rickie Bruce and wife Sonya; daughter, Evelyn Gail Campbell and husband Ronnie; two brothers, Calvin Bolin and Delmer Bolin; three sisters, Loveda Smith, Kathryn Spears and Nova Bower; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, August 11, 2017 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper, burial will follow at Carver Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Timothy Bruce, Bobby Bruce, Kent Bruce, Jessie Campbell, Austin Lewis and Michael Tarrie. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Coonts, Billy Bruce, Calvin Bolin and Delmer Bolin.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Jasper.
