Orlan Kilgore, age 83, of Jasper, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026. 

The son of Austin and Stella (Arbaugh) Kilgore was born on February 13, 1943. Orlan was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who found some of his greatest joys in the outdoors.

He was a proud papa to his grandkids and great-grandkids; he loved to tell stories about them to everyone. He was a hardworking man and a jokester when it came to the guys he worked with at Carroll Electric over the years; he happily retired when the time came.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charles Kilgore; and sister, Onedia DesJardin. 

Orlan is survived by his daughter Michelle Mitchell, his 3 grandchildren: Jody Jr. (Ashley) Mitchell, Taylor (Ryan) Jones, and Emma Mitchell (Fiancé Huston), and 6 great-grandchildren: Emorie, Rylee, Lainey, Jody III, Hagen, and Warner. 

He is also survived by his 2 brothers: Ronnie (Linda) Kilgore, Eddie (Meshelle) Kilgore, and 2 sisters: Peggy (Leroy) Edwards and Leisa (Randy) Spencer. 

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Our family will remember and celebrate his life privately, surrounded by the memories and love he left behind.
