Obituary

Opal (Scott) McMurrin, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Hillcrest Nursing Home at the age of 93.

The daughter of Robert and Edna (Wall) Scott was born June 25, 1924 in St. Joe, Arkansas.

Opal was a lifelong resident of Searcy and Boone County and a member of Crossroads Community Church. She enjoyed cooking, making quilts, gardening and flowers. She loved her grandkids and great grandkids. Opal was a loving mother and grandmother and treasured having her family together.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin McMurrin, her parents and two brothers.

She is survived by her three dear sons, Alvin McMurrin (Kathleen), Donnie McMurrin (Wanda) and David McMurrin (Sherlene) all of Harrison; five grandchildren, James McMurrin, Janet McMurrin, Sharon Kindrix (Jason), Carla Staggs (Ryan) and Jason McMurrin; seven great grandchildren, Kasia, Kaylee, Jackson, McKynlee, Rylee, Paisley and Bentlee.

Services are Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Crossroads Community Church with Pastor Johnny Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.

Pallbearers are Jason Kindrix, Ryan Staggs, Jason McMurrin, James McMurrin, Junior Bandy, Billy Wyatt, Eddie Yancey, Jerry Huston and Gary Hunter.
