Obituary

Opal "Red" Lane, age 82 of Everton, Arkansas passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison, Arkansas.

The son of Joe Jacob and Millie (Boone) Lane was born December 2, 1931 in Neely, Arkansas.

Red was of the Christian faith. He was a heavy equipment operator and enjoyed operating a dozer. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; a son, Lamar Lane; and a sister-in-law, Betty Criner.

Survivors are his wife, Juanita (Jones) Lane of the home; children, Bobbie Reddell and husband, Mike of Valley Springs Arkansas, Peggy Lane, Barbara Crow and Dana Lane all of Everton, Arkansas, Sam Lane and wife, Linda of Harrison, and Jimmy Lane and wife, Linda of Flippin, Arkansas; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Visitation was Monday, May 19, 2014 with the service Tuesday, May 19, 2014 both at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Bro. Dwayne Bryant and Bro. Dwight Crowley officiated.

Burial followed in Crawford Cemetery with pallbearers being Mark Vanderpool, Justin Lane, Cody Lane, Russell Eye, Dakota Lewis, Bobby Flud, Richard Hoppis, Pete Jones, James McClatchey, and Richard Riggs.

Honorary pallbearers were the staff of the Hospice of the Hills, the staff of NARMC, Dr. Brian Linn, Joey, Kenneth Smith, Bob Casteel, Monte Davenport, and Randy Laverty.
