Opal Jenks, age 88 of Jasper, AR passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at her home.
The daughter of Menless Bruce and Lola Mae (Adams) Faught, was born September 28, 1919 at Deer, AR.
She married her husband, Gilbert Jenks on May 16, 1942 in the middle of the Walter Carter Road, because high water kept them from getting to Mr. Carter's house. Gilbert preceded her in death, along with her parents; an infant son, Bruce Jenks; her brothers, Hearl, Lavern, and Arlis Faught; and her daughter-in-law, Ruth Jenks.
Survivors are her son, Michael Jenks, of Jasper; daughters, Jerry Scaife and her husband, Willie, of Branson, MO and June Staggs and her husband, Gene, of Baton Rouge, LA; brothers, Leon Faught, of Fairfield, OH and Burl Faught, of Deer; sisters, Louise Brawley, of San Dimas, CA; grandchildren, Stuart Staggs and his wife, Melissa, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Adriane Harmeling and her husband, Hook, of Dallas, TX, Sayward Staggs, of Little Rock, David Scaife, of Branson, MO, Aaron Jenks, of Jasper, Melissa Jenks, of Conway, and Zachary Jenks, also of Jasper and a great grandson, Kory Lain Jenks.
Service was Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper. Burial followed in Jasper Cemetery with Joe Sain officiating both.
Pallbearers are Zach Jenks, Aaron Jenks, David Scaife, Stuart Staggs, Brad Chalmers, and Rudy Chalmers.
