Onedia Kilgore Des Jardin, age 86, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at The Springs of Mt. Vista.

The daughter of Austin and Stella (Arbaugh) Kilgore was born in Low Gap, Arkansas on September 18, 1940. She has been a lifelong resident of Newton and Boone Counties and a devoted member of Resurrection Power Ministries. She loved the Lord and was ready to meet her Savior.

Onedia loved to go to rummage sales and antique shopping. She was an excellent cook, and you never left her home hungry. She was always willing to cook, no matter the time of day. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Steve.

She was famously stubborn within her family, but it was a quality they loved about her. Onedia was very giving and she loved her kids and grandkids very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steve Des Jardin; a brother, Charles Kilgore; and grandson, Zach Waters. Another of her brothers, Orlan Kilgore, passed away on the same day as her, just a few hours later.

Onedia is survived by her sons, Denny Waters and wife, Jeanie and Barry Waters; four siblings and their spouses, Ronnie and Linda Kilgore, Eddie and Meshelle Kilgore, Leisa and Randy Spencer, and Peggy and Leroy Edwards; four grandchildren, Candace (Steven) Murphy, Boone (Kaylee) Waters, Molly (Laine) Hilliard, and Layken Waters; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Low Gap Cemetery.
