Oma Viola Engel, age 89 of Jasper, AR passed away Sunday, April 30, 2006 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, AR.
She was born September 21, 1916 at Mt. Sherman, AR a daughter of William Lonzo and Ersa P. (Kilgore) Spencer. She was a homemaker and had lived in Kansas City, MO from 1936 to 1961. She was a member of First Church of Christ in Massachusetts, the Jasper Extension Homemakers Council, the Audubon Society, and was a leader for the Campfire Girls.
Oma was preceded in death by her husband, George Engel in 1992; her parents; one sister, Opal Coffey; and three brothers, Gene Spencer, Merle Spencer, and Diamond Ford Spencer.
Surivors include her daughters, Lila Langford of Kansas City, MO, Anne Schiebert of Millersville, PA, and Carol Villines and husband, Paul of Ponca, AR; one sister, Jo Alden of Springfield, MO; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Service for Oma Engel was held Friday, May 5, 2006 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper, AR with Brother Donnie Villines officiating. Burial was in Mt. Sherman Cemetery with pallbearers, Jim Langford, Doug Langford, Webb Durrett, Patrick Villines, Joseph Villines, and Danny Ray Clark.
