Norman Lee Sloan, age 75 of Jasper, AR, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper.
The son of Raymond and Pearl (Baucom) Sloan was born July 28, 1939 in Jasper, Arkansas.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God church in Jasper. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed working on cars. He was also on the Jasper City Council for many years and the Jasper Fire Chief.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Dorvin "Doc" Sloan.
Norman is survived by his wife Janice (Shelton) Sloan of the house; his son Kendall Sloan and his wife Regina of Marble Falls, AR; his daughter, Kimberly Van Namen and her husband Steve of Little Rock, AR.; his sister, Doris Brasel and her husband Jerry of Eagle Rock, MO.; and his grandchildren, Hunter and Harley Sloan, and Rachel and Rebekah Van Namen.
Visitation was 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, AR.
Funeral service was 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper with Brother Troy Walker officiating.
Burial followed in Union Hill Cemetery in Parthenon, AR.
Pallbearers were Shawn Vaughan, Adam Clark, Stacey Clark, Larry Phillips, Phillip Brasel, and Ronnie Carolton.
Honorary pallbearers are the Staff of Newton County Nursing Home.
