Obituary

Norman "Tex" Morrison, 78 of St. Joe, passed away on May 21, 2014 of cancer. He passed quietly at home surrounded by family.
Norman came to St. Joe, Arkansas from Texas at age 14 and soon became known as Tex. He graduated from St. Joe High School where he played basketball. Throughout his life he traveled and lived in a number of places where he worked for Boeing, Learjet and Cessna for thirty three years. He was proud of being one of the people who worked building Air Force One. He returned to St. Joe in 1999 to retire.

In retirement Tex stayed active by becoming a lock smith, being on the St. Joe City Council and volunteering at the restored M&NA Depot in St. Joe

He was a member of St. Joe Church of Christ, where he enjoyed leading singing. He always stayed true to Texas by being an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved watching sports especially football and basketball.

He was the 7th child of William (Billie) and Edna (Lusk) Morrison. He was proceeded in death by his parents, infant brothers, Othell and Odell, brothers Denzil and Raymond, sister, Amy Riley, and step-daughter, Beverly Young.

He is survived by his wife Lessie Morrison, Children, Norman Baker and wife Jan of Rogers, Dexter Baker and Shelby Friend of St. Joe, Brenda Baker of Fayetteville, step-daughter, Betty Hardy of Sherwood, step-son, Garland Young and wife Peggy of Mt. Hersey, sisters, Arlene Still, Joyce Jackson both of Harrison and Wilma Herrington of Graham Texas,Eleven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was Friday, May 23, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Funeral service was Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the St. Joe Church of Christ with Jerry Willis officiating. Burial followed Osborne Cemetery at St. Joe.

Pallbearers were Luke Baker, Tony Gregory, Donald Wyatt, Randy Turney, Heath Turney, and Kenny Malone.

Honorary pallbearers were Joe Blair and Bud Gregory.
